When studying abroad, a whole person can be affected as they struggle to reach beyond the confines of first language and into a new language, new culture, and a new way of thinking, feeling, acting and living.
This book is for a person who is planning to choose Australia as their preferred overseas study destination. Mainly for the people who are going to be studying english courses and tertiary institutions. It can also provide some guidelines for people who hold working holiday visa. People commonly face several challenges in Australia which they must master, the content and concepts of their discipline, which they may not fully understand using English language, and an education and cultural context quite different from their own. These cognitive, linguistic and cultural challenges interact to restrict, or at least modify, the nature of learning. This book addresses and illustrates the need to be more considerate of those differences and difficulties in order to help people make an easier transition into Australian life, by providing:
an overview of the Australian and its education system, with advice on key topics such as applications, accommodation, and how to enjoy the great Australian lifestyle
It provides accurate and easy-to-understand information, and first-hand tips, to help you to make an informed decision. I hope it may help you enjoy the life and further success in Australia.

……First, choose the country. There are six major English-speaking countries we can choose from. They are the United States, Australia, Canada, Great Britain, New Zealand and Singapore. The key factors to consider are safety, budget, weather and their world ranking in higher education. If you do not have any preference yet, I highly recommend that you go to education fairs to learn about the country, culture and institutions. The benefit of this is the information is free, and you can talk to the institution representative and can apply to it without paying any extra application fees. Do not be pressured to attend (they may be eager to get a commission for you). If you do not want to spend too much time researching yourself, the best way is to find a good education agent. REMEMBER, find a reputable agent with an affordable fee, and read the contract carefully. Normally agents will only recommend customers to study at the institute that they represent because they can get commission for your tuition fee. It is very important that you should have a basic idea of the country and its education system, otherwise you will do whatever the agent talks you into. Better to go with your parents or friends and discuss it with them before you sign a contract…….
