here, there and everywhere
fion ko
I don’t usually look at my work after I finished, instead I would be more interested in building my mood for a new story in my head, waiting to see what will be coming next.
I see all these imperfections of myself in my work, yet they are healing me at the same time. Through the process of creation, I found a path to accept who I was and make peace with who I am. It has always been a personal and intimate journey between me and my work, it is a space where I communicate directly with the inner self.
Until one day, I decided to unseal this private world of mine to others, and was surprised to see how some audience were connected and responded to me. By sharing more with others, it has inspired and encouraged me to express myself in a broader aspect. However, I keep the total freedom for myself to express, and the total freedom for my audi- ence to interpret what they see. I retain the calm position of a storyteller of my own.
This book documents some fragments of my past, they are important and yet they are not. I enjoy watching the transitions of how my work gradu- ally unfolds with new inspirations entering my life at different stages. I keep a thankful heart to share with others, my thoughts from here, there and everywhere. |
