本書作者身為大溪同濟會會員，本著哪裡有需要就服務哪裡的人群關懷，將同濟會宗旨「服務人群造福社會，敦睦國際友誼、擴展生活領域、促進世界和平」盡情發揮，將生活中對人類與臺灣社會的觀察，訴諸文字，希望透過書籍的傳達，創造不朽的未來！
The author of this book is a member of Dashi Kiwanis International, and with a heart of serving people wherever there are needs, he fully brings into full play the aim of Kiwanis, which is “serving people, benefitting community, making international friends, expanding the spheres of life, and promoting world peace.” He has resorted to use words to record his observations of human beings and the Taiwan community in the daily life, hoping that through the message conveyed in this book, an immortal future can be created!

The Earth is one of the few planets in the universe that is the most beautiful and the best. It is filled with life and vitality. However, the human beings living here have not taken good care of it. Human civilization and technology have not brought a better living environment to the Earth; on the contrary, human civilization brought damage and destruction. In the past, there were only drizzling rain in the spring, now, they are all huge storms; now, the mountain forests are no longer beautiful, we no longer take good care of the Earth, and we no longer have other places to go. The environment on Earth was so wonderful, yet human beings changed the Earth’s environment by just using century-old civilization and technology. If we don’t make adjustments to the developmental direction of human beings, human beings will be destroyed by their own civilization and technology. We need to slow down the speed of development, place environmental protection as a priority, and use more natural resources, such as solar energy, wind power, hydraulic power, terrestrial heat, and the ocean. Together, we can develop and use these resources. We are all born on this Earth; it’s just that we are born at different locations. As one, we jointly live in this world, so, together, we should love and take care of this world, and share and develop the resources on the Earth. Let’s work hard to change back the Earth’s environment, so that we can live well here.
